Virtual movement, overlapping layers, interlaced perspectives, connections, information overlay, reality glitches, definitions - archival and transformation of intermediate spaces.

In her most recent works Daniela Grabosch is focussing on generative methods and algorithmic calculations to explore the digitality and virtuality of space, movement and behaviour - such as portraits of places, landscapes, architecture, archives and history generated by search-engines and data collection(s). Analysing their performativity - recording, reproducing, remembering and archiving movement. Exploring potential relationships resulting from the (human) performance of moving bodies.

The act of (re)searching as a performative action, an active visualisation of countability and codes, [digital] (re)production and processing, resulting in a (re)translation into tangibles and vice versa - the interconnection
of fiction and reality. The effect of the digitalisation of bodies and material on spatial perception and social processes - constantly surrounded by algorithms which create images, objects and bodies.

Daniela Grabosch is using digital technologies - self-tracking software, geodata software, 3D scanning, rapid prototyping, etc. - as prosthetics for her ideas about form-making and production. Re-thinking the (non)existing borders between (virtual) realities within peripheric structures - where the virtual becomes (or always was) real - creating dialogues between imaginaries. Images generated by data algorithms that are part of our daily lives, looking for a digital replacement. (Re)searching the relationships between human and non-human elements.

In her artistic practice she explores highly diverse interfaces between different spaces, realities and objects. Her works are situated in a constant transit, questioning their constellations and relation to space and the moving/acting visitor. Perceiving it as a continuously growing, fluid archive of collected data and information. A (re)search that grows into displays - stages - restructuring boundaries, playing with the spatial fluidity induced by digital technologies, embracing algorithmic structures and digital processes.

Daniela Grabosch’s work is based on an analytical method. Both form and content tend to be explored. The engine of this process is of performative nature. In a present of neurotic economy and perennial virtuality, the human condition is in most cases dual: on one hand, control and (video) surveillance of the constant observation, on the other hand, the performative and conceptual attitude of assembling images and texts in a conceptual
way (homo performans).

Self-perception, self-presentation and relationship with space are built in such environment. Daniela Grabosch organizes this condition in an in fieri archive, in a catalog that is memory and discovery of itself. The memory of movement as it declines. The memory of the body as a measurement. Intangible memory embodied by technology. Behavior, human movement in the retemporalization of anaesthetized daily life. The object and the technical artifact are analyzed as carriers of human action. For that reason it uses every possible technique (photography, self-tracking software, geodata software, 3D scanning, rapid prototyping), with the precision of research and the transparency of data collection. Her artistic narratives include the image of the human body’s presence, poetic texts in form of data, the modular decompositions of architecture, geographic coordinates in immaterial conventions: a constant and synthetic observation as an alternative to accumulation and cognitive self-positioning.
