[INTANGIBLE COORDINATES / PROCESSING MOVEMENT is a performative approach of an inaccessible location and deals with the question how/if a remote, uneconomic place can be transported to another location by using digital, archiving technologies.INTANGIBLE COORDINATES / PROCESSING MOVEMENT shows the reproduction of the artists movement. Recorded with a mobile 3D scanning application and a GPS body tracking application, it translates the collected data into different media and materialities.
The resulting performative objects function as props for a renewed understanding and a new, placeless approach of the site within an exhibition situation. They position the audience within the exhibition space and its fragmentary setup – slowly transforming the arranged setting into a [virtual] stage situation – which offers the audience the possibility of interaction with an absent place.
INTANGIBLE COORDINATES / PROCESSING MOVEMENT is the second part of part of a continuous research, based on the analysis of a land plot located on the coast of Portugal, near the capital of Lisbon.
During the last decades, since the purchase of the land plot in 1962, the state regulations have changed several times – today the still privately owned land plot finds itself in one of Portugal’s largest natural reserves, which denies the owners any [commercial] usage of the areal and transforms it into a place fluctuating between an undefined private and public state.
